Research

University of New Haven faculty members are widely recognized as experts in their fields. The depth and breadth of their work is second to none, creating transformational learning opportunities for all students.

The department conducts research in several areas, and we engage undergraduate and graduate students in the conduction of this research as we believe that students learn better in these environments.

Through the University of New Haven’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program, you’ll work side by side with a faculty mentor, conduct an intensive research project, and discover even more about your passion.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) experience provides undergraduate students experience in designing and conducting a research project of their own, while working under the guidance of a faculty mentor and participating in an extended learning community that includes current and past SURF scholars.

As a graduate student at the University of New Haven, you will have the opportunity to work closely with your professors in conducting innovative research. And, you can pursue prestigious – and nationally recognized – fellowships that make it possible to participate in transformational learning experiences.

Students have secured Boren and Fulbright Scholarships as well as research awards from the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and other well-known organizations.
